Accompanying Yourself Empty Accompanying Yourself

Accompanying your own voice with an instrument is one of the most rewarding things you can do as a musician. Just throwing it out there if any one of you thinks you have any ability to sing (which if you're a part of the chorus, you do), you have the ability to play an instrument. The human voice has so much more expressive potential than any instrument, which means it's that more difficult to make nice sounds to come out of it. Piano and guitar are easy! If you want to learn them, I can't tell you enough to go out there and learn. Music is the one thing that is so universally embraced, yet viewed as some sort of super-human ability that you had to have been born with the ability to create it. If any of that is true (doubtful); as singers, you all have that ability. Go and learn an instrument and provide joy to you and so many of those around you, and you'll have the time of your life doing it!
