Why music is important

I think the importance in making music predominantly comes from music’s ability to express things that seem inexpressible at times. I often find myself losing sight of my words, feeling unable to say exactly what I feel. Times like these are when I appreciate music most, because while it is a comfort, it is also a way for me to feel connected with someone else who seems to be going through a similar situation as me. It brings me the comforting message that I am not alone in feeling such raw human emotion that the only way to express it is through notes and rhythms. Music will exist forever, and that permanence is what makes it so special.
