Music Career?

Lately I have been thinking about a career in music. My parents have always taught me that I should pursue what I love, and find a career that I could see myself enjoying for many years as apposed to thinking just about the money. Singing and participating in theatre is what I love to do. Every day, I come home wanting to sing and play piano, not do my math homework. Although I get the other homework done, I enjoy music more. I guess its because I am good at it. I remember my parents pushing me to play soccer and hockey when I was little for years and years and I would complain every practice because I was no good and did not enjoy it. Finally my mom put me in a small community show and I never looked back. I also spend a lot of time participating in shows and festivals that I love to do. I've heard that music is proven to make people happy and I think thats true. Whenever I am sad or stressed I always stop what I'm doing and just sing. It really relaxes me. I've always wanted to have a career where I can help people, so I am thinking about music therapy. I also love anatomy and science so I want to study vocal pedagogy. There is so many options for careers these days, but when I look at myself in ten years I can only picture myself doing something with music.
