Vocal Technique Empty Vocal Technique

Post  BrianPerrault Thu Oct 13, 2011 7:37 pm

Now that summer's over and we're back to practicing classical music, we've begun to focus more on vocal technique. With warm ups we devote most of our energy to a single technique at a time, whether it's breath management, articulation or vowel shape. The most technically difficult part of our routine, in my opinion, is In These Delightful Pleasant Groves. It's a song that requires bounce and articulation but sometimes it comes off smooth and heavy. What I've been doing to get an extra bounce to the song is singing on the tips of my feet. I remember using this technique with songs such as With a Voice of Singing. I hope that bouncing on the tips of my feet is helping the bounce of the song (rather than making me look strange.) Either way, I'm sure we'll have the vocal technique under control two weeks from now.
