Room 197 Empty Room 197

The chorus room is by far my favorite room in the high school. There is a warm, happy atmosphere that I can not seem to find anywhere else in the school! The most recent Motown mural turned out great and I am very proud of everyone that contributed to it. I think that to make room 197 better, we could move the risers so that we are facing the opposite voice part. This way, we will be able to clearly hear the other voice parts instead of focusing solely on our own. After the risers are moved, we could put the piano off to the side making it less dominant in our rehearsals. Since we do not use it very often any more, I think it would be a good idea to remove it entirely from the room or just put it off to the side so that it is less of a crutch. Another way we can make the room better would be to keep the lights off for the whole class period. They make a distracting buzzing sound that we never seem to hear while the lights are on. However, as soon as we turn them off, the newfound silence is more prominent. It would be beneficial to us if they were either changed or removed entirely.
