After a brief introduction to the music we will be performing during the spring concert, I cannot be more excited for this performance. I especially love our choral spectrum repotiore. Despite my inability to speak French, Bonjour Mon Cur has quickly become my favorite piece. While I have read the translation, I actually think that my lack of understanding of the language helps me tune into the meaning of the piece. Since I have to pay more attention to the dynamic contrast and the movement of the line, I feel that I understand the tone at certain parts of the song, and that component helps increase the musicality and interest I put into the piece. Furthermore, I am a fan of simply choral pieces of music, therefore the spring concert is always one of my favorites. While singing Broadway pieces may be considered fun, we are all enrolled in chorus class for a reason, and that is to sing traditional pieces in a choral setting. This concert also represents a greater moving on from one year to the next. While we say goodbye to our beloved seniors, we also welcome with warm arms the younger generation of students matriculating through the school system. I look forward to sharing the experience of this spring concert.
