Why is making music important?

Everyone has a different view on this topic. My thoughts are that it simply relaxes me, and I enjoy making music. I love that I have one period a day just for singing, it gives me a nice hour of my school day to step back and do something I love. Starting a new piece is always stressful and overwhelming. But the outcome, and the concert where we showcase all of our hard work is so rewarding. The importance of music is essentially just the boost of confidence I get with making it through the preparation and being successful!
