Solo Auditions Empty Solo Auditions

Post  HallieNowicki Tue Mar 12, 2013 8:09 pm

I pretty much use to always have a freak out session before a solo audition. I would get sweaty, shaky, short of breathe, and a dry throat. However, I've only noticed this reaction when trying out for a singing audition. For instance, I have never gotten nervous when trying out for an acting role. I believe this is so because I do not always feel "safe" when singing. Tons of thoughts would come flowing into my head like, "What if you go off key" or "What if you crack on the high note". However, I have recently realized a big part of singing is taking risks. I no longer psyche myself out because I will never achieve anything if I do not go out and at least try. By following this motto I am able to face solo auditions with a minimal amount of stress. I still get nervous, but I mean, who doesn't? It's a part of life but it should not stop anyone from doing what they love.
