Solo Audions

The day of the solo auditions can be so nerve racking for some people. However, the people who do audition give the other people the courage to try out for them. When I try out for one I take a deep breath and give it all I got and that’s all that matters if you try your best. If you don’t get the solo, that’s okay, because you now have the courage to try out for more. When I try out for a solo I feel happy that I let my voice be heard and I will keep trying out for more.

Whenever I try out for a solo, or I am just singing in front of people, I always tell myself no matter what happens, I will get through it. I calm myself down by breathing slowly, and imagining I am just singing to myself all alone. This helps me to forget about the fact that people will be listening, and it makes me feel more relaxed. After I have finished with an audition, I always feel so proud of myself which I think is the best part of the whole experience. Even if I don't get the solo, the pride I felt after the audition always pushes me to keep trying for the next one, even though I may be disappointed. Its also good to remember that not getting a solo is nothing personal, it just means that you have a few things you need to work on in order to be your best. Chorus would be really boring if we were all perfect, because there would be nothing to strive for. If every successful person had just quit after one failed attempt at reaching their goal, we would not have very many successful people in this world. So as long as we try, do our best and show our love for singing, we will reach our goals.
