Spring Concert

It is crazy to believe that the Spring Concert is the next thing on our agenda, and that the pieces are already in the works. I always look forward to the Spring Concert because it is a nice return to repertoire after the songs in Talent Expo, but it is also a bit more relaxed because it is not one of the major concerts of the year. The music is definitely more simplistic and easy-going than much of what we work with throughout the rest of the year, and it gives off a much more calming, breezy essence. Whenever the Spring Concert comes around, it is a special reminded of everything spring represents. Spring is like a new birth; nature is blooming and the air is filled with excitement about new experiences, and everyone knows that summer is just around the corner. Although spring seems to be all about new beginnings, it seems that you cannot have a beginning without an end. We have the ending of the school year and the seniors leaving as we do every year, but this concert will be especially bittersweet because we are also losing our director. From now until the concert, I know that we will all put our whole hearts into the process in respect for the person who has always put his whole self into the betterment of each of us.
