Musical Careers

Now that college is in full speed ahead, our counselors, teachers, and parents constantly ask "What are you going to do with your life?" In my opinion, nobody has the power to determine their future. Although we have the privilege to attend college, I think that whatever direction anyone chooses to go in will always turn back to an initial passion. For me, I have many passions such as running and science; however, I'm almost entirely sure that my heart and soul will always be invested in music. Thankfully it's still a little early for me to have a make a concrete decision about what I will study in college, but I know deep down that my dream is to be involved in music. It is such a challenge for outsiders without a similar passion and desire for music to understand why I would want to go into a field that isn't very promising and doesn't have a high income rate. But for me, I'd like to wake up happy everyday knowing that I followed my dreams and managed to share my passion with others. My parents, especially my mom, has a difficult time accepting the fact that music may be what I wish to study in college and is still trying to convince me to become a nurse or doctor. That may be her passion but my heart will always remain true to the music.
