Shout Outs

After seeing the outcome of all the special acts in last weeks concert, I would like to shout out to all those who performed in a special act or had a solo in the concert. I think I speak for most when I say that the special acts were astounding. One in particular really impressed me and that was the performance of Season of Love by the group of freshman girls. I think it is so great that they had the courage to put themselves out there as freshman. It made a statement to the rest of the chorus and showed those of us in mixed chorus how talented the girls in concert chorale really are. Not only did they just put themselves out there but they also nailed their performance. The musical quality and advanced harmonies that they used proved their extreme talent. Another aspect to their performance that made it so amazing was their confidence and stage presence, which is something that many performers don't have. They communicated with the audience like they were telling a story, and you could tell they were really passionate about the song and about being up there. Overall I think their amazing performance says something about what's to come next year. Even though we will be losing many talented seniors we will also be gaining these talented girls.
