Chorus Council

I think the chorus council is such a great way for there to be communication between the students and Mr. Young. The five great chorus council members, from what I hear in class, always bring up great topics with Mr. Young. They are great leaders of our chorus and they always have great ideas to bring us closer together. The five of them created most of the out of school activities with the chorus, which have been great bonding opportunities. A chorus council member is not just someone that is picked at random. Each of the chorus council members are responsible and models of the chorus. I know the chorus council members in concert choral better than the members in mixed chorus, only because I am in concert choral, but I know that each and every one of them is someone that I could go to if I had an idea or a question on something because I know that they could bring it up in the chorus council meetings that they have with Mr. Young. Being a model for the chorus is not an easy thing to do because making decisions and coming up with ideas is not always something that comes to someone. Every time after there is a meeting, the chorus council members in concert choral always have a new idea or proposition to the chorus like the sweatshirts and the monthly gatherings. The only thing that they chorus council should do is keep coming up with their great ideas!

I agree that Chorus Council is a great way for students to communicate with Mr. Young. From what we have said about Chorus Council in class, I think they are a great group of individuals who care about the chorus program and try to make it even better. I only know the ones in Concert Chorale, but they all seem very aproachable and helpful. I feel very comfortable asking them about chorus-related things which they can bring up in chorus council meetings. They come up with awesome ideas to make chorus more like a family, like the monthly outings (Apple picking, Pasta parties, etc). They have also come up with ideas like the chorus sweatshirts. I really like how sometimes the Chorus Council members will bring up things they have been talking about in recent meetings during class. They sometimes ask for our opinions on certain subjects, such as what to do for an upcoming outing. Overall, this group of Chorus council members is a helpful, easy to talk to, trustworthy and caring group of people who care about chorus and helps it to be better in any way possible.
