Mentors/Mentees
Being a new student in the high school, I do not know many upperclassmen. I think that the mentor program in chorus was a great idea! Before the fall concert, my mentor got me really excited to perform. She is extremely encouraging and nice. Louisa Brady is my mentor, and whenever I see her in the hallway, she says a big hello to me. Louisa is also easy to go to if I have a question about school in general. Earlier this year, I had a question about a class that she had as a freshman as well. She gave me great advice and tips that I would need throughout the year. Louisa has also made my chorus experience get even better. She hosted the first chorus pasta party, which was a great bonding experience for mentors and mentees as well as with everyone in the chorus. One idea that I have for mentor and mentee program is to have more chorus social events that are more focused on getting to know your mentor or mentee. At an event we could have games and we could be parters with our mentor or mentee, therefore making us work together so we can get to know each other better.
