Great Job Everyone!
I thought that the fall concert went really well tonight. It was really nice to hear Fa una Canzone with the added instruments. They really brought something special to that piece. The cello was also a great addition to Now the Eventide. The audience tonight was packed. I noticed many people having to stand around the auditorium because they were so many people. Let's hope we continue to get such a large turnout to all of our concerts. I really enjoyed hearing mixed chorus sing. I think that is a good experience for the two choruses to get the opportunity to hear what the other group is working on. Hearing them sing inspires me to work harder so that I can reach that level of musicianship.

Recordings before the concert
Today in class when we were listening to the recording of the concert, I thought that we sounded a lot differently than I thought before the concert. Listening to a recording can give you so much perspective on how your piece actually sounds. While listening to the recording we were able to hear ourselves in a different way than possible in class. As a group we were able to find things that we made a mistake on, that could be easily be fixed by more rehearsal of that particular section. So, my suggestion is this, we could figure out a way to make a recording of our songs before the concert. That way when we listen to it the first time we could hear our mistakes and fix them in rehearsal before the concert. This could be very beneficial to our chorus because when people are singing they can’t understand how the group sounds in its entirety. By doing this we would be more prepared for each of our concerts and we could most definitely improve our level of performance.

Re: Great Job Everyone!
I was very pleased with the fall concert this year. The fact that we only learned two pieces gave us time to focus on trying to perfect them and I felt that the attention to detail in every single piece that might have been missing in years passed made the concert stand out. I was extremely impressed with concert choral. I was blown away by their grasp of the language and the way they were able to incorporate dynamics so well, while also dealing with a pronunciation barrier. Everything seemed to come together for them and I remember thinking that I thought they sounded better than mixed chorus, with thier focus and attention to detail they performed so well and I thought that all of those girls sounded like they should be in mixed chorus.
